Activities in Whistler

Whistler has consistently been ranked as North America’s top ski resort, and is famous as such worldwide. Whistler is an extraordinary vacation destination, winter or summer. The hub of the mountain resort, called Whistler Village, was designed to be vehicle free. There are over 200 shops, a library, town hall, police station, and over 90 restaurants that make up Whistler Village. The design gives visitors a convenient and pedestrian only experience.

Golfing in a mountain setting like Whistler is a unique experience not to be missed. British Columbia has some of the most beautiful courses in the world. The Whistler courses offer a variety of challenges and opportunities. You’ll find beautifully maintained courses with spellbinding views.

Fishing

Whistler fishing is some of the world's best. Within minutes, you can access many different rivers and an abundance of small streams that are teeming with trout and bass. There are fly shops in town and plenty of outfitters if you're looking for a guided tour. Most water can be fished year-round.

  • Peak to Valley Race

    January 27-28, 2012

    The Peak to Valley race is a unique team race event on Whistler Mountain with a long history. Mixed gender teams of 4 race on a course with a vertical drop of 1,443 meters and 180 gates.

  • Whistler WinterPRIDE

    February 5-12, 2012

    This year will be Whistler's 20th WinterPRIDE gay and lesbian ski week. This festival is geared to both the gay and lesbian crowd with skiing, apres ski, and other social events.

  • Kokanee Valley Race Series

    Thursdays, Dec. 15, 2011 - Mar. 15, 2012

    Recreational racing events open to anyone regardless of experience. The series is open to skiers, telemarkers, and snowboarders that will be divided into divisions based on age and gender. Have fun and remember to wear your helmet.
